The Four Basic Personality Styles
The approach to life is different for most people. Therefore the information that is needed for each person to grow may be used differently. There are basically four different styles of thinkers and personalities. See if you can identify your personality.
1.) The Dominant Director: These are forceful, take charge people. They are impatient and insensitive. They are not shy or subtle. They are leaders who are more concerned with results, not feelings or egos. They make things happen. They are the people that companies hire to get results for their company. Their demands are met and no one gets past them. You have to deal with them to get your right of passage to come into their environment. They are goal oriented and focused on the outcome, and nothing gets in their way. They take charge and will do whatever is needed to achieve the goal.
2.) Socializers: Socializers love people and want to be where other people are. If there is an event, they want to be there. They love to be involved with new ideas and concepts. They have great ideas and are strong in expressing their ideas. They do however, lack follow through and are not a stabilizing force. They are very people oriented but they are not goal oriented.
3.) Negotiator Realtor: These are easy going people. They enjoy being around other people for the long ride. They are very people and feelings oriented. They have great communicating and counseling skills, and they are great parents. They make slow changes and are prideful. They follow the rules and like routine.
4.) The Thinker: They think things through and are very organized. They do not like to draw attention to themselves. They love order in their routine and may come off as picky. They are non-contact people. They fear or dislike being controlled. They are detailed in following instructions, and get confused without the detail. They produce high quality work. They solve problems and have only a few close friends. They prefer the background to the front of the class.
We can all match some of these traits to ourselves, but the point is to begin identifying what style you are. Then you can begin to determine what abilities you should be working on. This will make your work time more productive, increasing your confidence level because of new found skills, and you will be able to solve more situations in your life effectively.
